In This Month's Publications...

This month, EM presents a series of articles on the unique challenges associated with vapor intrusion (VI) in buildings that consider the current federal and state approaches to VI, the development of a new ASTM standard for VI assessment, and VI issues in the workplace. Also this month, we introduce a new bimonthly column -- PM File -- with practical advice for environmental project managers, and The Member Minute profiles past-president Paula J. McLemore.

This month's Journal includes 13 peer-reviewed papers featuring the latest science and research on a variety of air and waste management-related topics, including "Real-World Vehicle Emissions: A Summary of the Sixteenth Coordinating Research Council On-Road Vehicle Emissions Workshop" by Cadle et al.; "Use of the Electrical Aerosol Detector as an Indicator of the Surface Area of Fine Particles Deposited in the Lung" by Wilson et al.; and "Emissions of Chromium (VI) from Arc Welding" by Heung et al.

Waste Combustors Conference
to Examine New Emissions Standards

New emission standards and compliance methodologies require companies, their consultants, and regulators to re-evaluate past practices established under the RCRA Boiler and Industrial Furnace Rules and Interim HWC MACT standards. As a result, you don't want to miss A&WMA's Hazardous Waste Combustors Conference and Exhibition, which takes place March 13-14, 2007, in Charleston, SC.  The conference will feature a special emphasis on implementation of final HWC MACT standards, as well as overlapping RCRA regulatory issues.
