Timers’ Reception. Designed to orient new attendees to the voluminous amount of information available at the Annual Conference & Exhibition, the First Timers’ Reception has
become a regularly scheduled event where conference rookies meet veterans to learn the ropes and plot out a strategy for making the most of their experience. Get the inside scoop on the most anticipated presentations, social events, tours, and exhibits from A&WMA President C.V. Mathai, board members, and staff.

Known as the “Green Queen”, internationally recognized CEO and President of Athena Company, P.S. Reilly will speak at the Women’s Professional Development Luncheon. A noted expert on cleantech, energy technology, sustainability and related fields, P.S. will lead A&WMA’s Women’s Professional Development group in a discussion that can’t be missed.

A&WMA’s Women’s Professional Development Committee looks to harness her spirit of innovation and success to further the goals of the Association and encourage women to seek advancement in environmental professions. Grand Reception
Tuesday, June 24 • 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

The Pacific Northwest is a land of beauty, bounty, and contrasts. From coastal towns boasting lush forests and cold Pacific waters still plied by small fishing vessels, to the wide open desert county of ranches, wheat farms, and vineyards, to verdant valleys of berries, row crops, and sheep, to mountain slopes with mile after mile of pear and apple orchards and vineyards. The region’s harvest provides a tantalizing feast for the senses at A&WMA’s Annual Grand Reception. Locally-grown foods will be accompanied by low-key music, just as local and fresh. Get your fill of the flavor that makes the Pacific Northwest the laid-back destination it is. One ticket to the reception is included with each full conference registration. The work of A&WMA’s academic members is of great importance to environmental professionals, particularly when it comes to preparing those looking to break into the field, and researching the issues of the day. All academics attending the Annual Conference–college and university faculty, Ph.D. candidates, postdocs– are invited to network with colleagues from the Association of Environmental

Get any final bids in on the Annual Silent Auction benefitting the A&WMA Scholarship Endowment Trust Fund during the Annual Exhibit Hall Networking Reception. Take the time to explore booths and displays, and learn about the latest products and services offered to the environmental professional. Catch up with old colleagues and make a new contact or two over light hors d’oeuvres and drinks before heading out for an evening on the town.


Rolling on the River
Willamette River Cruise and Salmon Dinner
Wednesday, June 25 • 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

In early Oregon history, the Willamette River carried timber and agricultural products to market. Today, it provides one of the most beautiful views of the City of Roses. Board the Portland Spirit cruise ship at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, June 25, and cruise along the Willamette, to enjoy beautiful twilight views of downtown Portland, Ross Island, and the floating houses of Portland. Dine on Northwest salmon and other local cuisine along the way. A cash bar will be available. Meet at the intersection of Salmon Street and Naito Parkway. The ship sails promptly at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person.
