Scholarship Programs Overview
A&WMA takes pride in supporting the future environmental leaders of our world in research, teaching, engineering, and environmental practice. For more than a decade, the Association has awarded scholarships to the most promising environmental students. To date, 108 scholarships totaling more than $383,750 have been awarded. Full-time graduate students who are pursuing courses of study and research leading to careers in air quality, waste management, environmental management/policy/law, and sustainability are eligible to apply for the 2009/2010 A&WMA Scholarship Endowment Trust Fund. On September 2, 2008 the new & improved online application launched. Scholarship applications have already been submitted for the 2009/2010 schoolyear. Applicants will be advised of results in January 2009. Please check back in September 2009 for next years' scholarship application.
Many A&WMA Sections & Chapters also have scholarship programs in which students may be interested. Details and deadlines vary. Click here for a list of section & chapter scholarship programs.
If you are interested in making a donation to the A&WMA Scholarship Endowment Trust Fund, please download a Scholarship Donation Brochure, or contact Member Services at 1-800-270-3444 or +1-412-232-3444. Contributions are tax deductible.
