A&WMA’s 101st Annual Conference & Exhibition was a huge success!
Over 2,300 environmental professionals from around the world gathered in Portland, OR, one of America’s most sustainable cities, to attend this year's Conference, which featured over 500 sessions, dynamic presentations by industry leaders, student competitions and challenges, and plenty of social and networking opportunities.
If you weren’t able to make it to Portland, or if you missed some of our featured events, be sure to visit the Annual Conference Web site as we will be posting Conference photos and videos of some of our keynote speakers and the 2008 Critical Review on climate change.
Also visit the Online Library to purchase the Conference proceedings CD, containing more than 500 peer-reviewed papers and 50 panels that were presented in Portland. CDs will be available in August.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to help us make this one of our best conferences yet!
Although last year's Conference is still fresh in our minds, we’re already looking ahead to Detroit in 2009. Visit the ACE 09 Web site to get a sneak peak at next year’s Conference. We will be updating the site regularly as new information is released.
Air Quality Modeling: Theories, Methodologies, Computational Techniques, and Available Databases and Software - Special Issues is now available in the Online Library.
This is the third volume in a series by editor Paolo Zannetti and it provides environmental scientists, engineers, researchers, and students with a comprehensive and evolving body of information in all aspects of computer simulation of air pollution and related atmospheric phenomena.
As a whole, the three volumes provide a complete description of almost all technical topics related to air quality modeling.
Receive a 30% discount when you purchase all three volumes.

The Environmental Education Resource Guides (EERGs) are an integral part of A&WMA’s award-winning Teacher-Training Program. The Guides have all been field tested by classroom teachers and provide an ideal curriculum supplement.
A&WMA is seeking funding of about $20,000 to update the EERGs. The Southern Section of A&WMA has already agreed to donate $2,500 towards this goal and is asking our other Sections and Chapters to get involved and help with the fundraising efforts. Donations for any dollar amount will be graciously accepted and put towards the updating costs.
Thanks to the Georgia Chapter for accepting the challenge and donating $1,000!
E-mail Sandi Spratt to donate. Help us update this important education tool!
Want to take advantage of A&WMA’s professional development opportunities but can’t take time out of the office? Join us for a Webinar in August.
Environmental Risk Management is geared towards company owners, risk managers, and environmental health and safety officers responsible for their facilities. This Webinar will offer useful tips to help manage costly risks presented by environmental issues.
A Small Problem - The New NSR PM2.5 Rule will provide an overview of the significant implications and challenges presented by the New Source Review Rule for Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) that was released on May 8, 2008.
Join industry leaders Ken Weiss, Principal and Global Air Practice Leader at ERM; Gary McCutchen, Principal with RTP Environmental; John Paul, Administrator, Regional Air Pollution Control Agency; and Raj Rao, Group Leader, NSRG, QAQPS / AQPD for this informative Webinar.
