E-Learning Overview

Welcome to the Air & Waste Management Association E-Learning Center.

As an environmental professional, you want to keep abreast of rules, regulations, scientific research, and developments. You also want to share your experiences with others while making new connections with peers from around the world.

To help you meet these challenges, the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is committed to providing education in various formats to meet your needs. A&WMA's E-Learning Center will enable you to engage in active learning from the convenience of your home or office while eliminating the costs associated with traditional face-to-face courses. Most online courses will allow participants to update their knowledge base, whereas some will serve as refreshers. Qualified instructors will guide you through the coursework as you work at your own pace through the readings, problem sets, and discussions.

Course Features

Each course in the A&WMA E-Learning Center, contains the following features:

  • Classroom: This area contains the course content.
  • Instructor: The Instructor area provides background information on the course instructor(s).
  • Classmates: In this area, participants can share photos, contact information, and interests with classmates and instructors.
  • Discussions: This area works like a threaded bulletin board. General feedback can be posted here, and questions/comments can be viewed by all participants and instructor(s).
  • Library: The Library contains a number of resources referenced in the course.
  • Glossary: This area contains definitions of terms used in the course.
  • Messages: Learners and instructors can message one another within the online classroom.
  • Notebook: The Notebook is an area where participants can capture useful course information and also keep their own course notes. It serves as a reference tool for all courses taken.
  • Transcripts: This includes a record of completed classes.
