E-Learning

Are you looking for continuing education without the travel? Then our e-learning opportunities may be just what you need.

  • A&WMA's E-Learning Center will enable you to engage in active learning through online courses from the convenience of your home or office while eliminating the costs associated with traditional face-to-face courses.
  • Our Webinars allow you to interact with experts on hot topic information from the convenience of your home or office and stay on the cutting edge

Certification

Those that participate in A&WMA events (conferences, courses, e-learning, etc.) may be eligible for continuing education credit (PDHs, CLEs, etc.). A&WMA has been granted exempt status approval to be a Florida Board of Professional Engineers Continuing Education Provider (Exempt Provider # EXP 00079), and is an Accredited Provider of CLE in Pennsylvania (Provider # 947). Additionally, A&WMA participation certificates may be used to meet your recertification requirements (CChE, DEE, PE, PEng, QEP, etc.).

You may also be interested in the following certification bodies, which are in compliance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) accreditation criteria.

  • The Institute of Professional Environmental Practice (IPEP) is the independent, not-for-profit certifying organization for the Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) and the Environmental Professional Intern (EPI) certifications.
  • The American Academy of Environmental Engineers provides a structure for advancing your career as an environmental engineer, from the Academy's Intern Environmental Engineer program for recent graduates, through its Associate Environmental Engineer program for recently licensed engineers, to Diplomate Environmental Engineer (DEE) that gives you full membership in the Academy.
  • The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH®), a not-for-profit corporation, was organized to improve the practice and educational standards of the profession of industrial hygiene. It offers the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
  • The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) was organized as a peer certification board with the purpose of certifying practitioners in the safety profession. BCSP awards the Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®).
  • The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) was founded as a non-profit organization in 1984, and launched the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) program in June of that year.

Other certification bodies:

  • The Board of Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor Certification (BEAC) is an independent, nonprofit corporation established in 1997 to issue professional certifications relating to environmental, health, and safety auditing and other scientific fields. BEAC was originally created as a joint venture between The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) and the Auditing Roundtable (Roundtable).

    We are looking for experienced instructors to present online courses for the A&WMA E-Learning Center. Instructors are required to interact with students over a specified time period (e.g., four weeks). If you are interested in becoming an A&WMA online instructor, please complete and return this form.

    We are looking for organizers to plan hot topic Webinars. Organizers are required to find expert presenters and a moderator for the live event. If you are interested in submitting a topic and presenters for an Webinar, please complete and return this form.
