AIR-128: Greenhouse Gas Emissions Management

This half day course provides the attendee with a basic understanding of preparation of an effective and verifiable GHG inventory for voluntary and mandatory reporting purposes.  Protocols utilized include the WRI/WBCSD Greenhouse Gas Protocols for both organizational GHG accounting and project-based accounting. Select state registry and project-based protocols will also be briefly reviewed including The Climate Registry and the California Climate Action Registry. Draft EPA Mandatory GHG Reporting Rule requirements as well as emerging cap and trade legislation will be reviewed. The course will also cover the basics of a comprehensive carbon management strategy focused on organizational GHG accounting and on how to mitigate carbon risk and plan for GHG emissions reductions and energy management integration.
