The Mother Lode Chapter (MLC) of the Air and Waste Management Association has more than 50 institutional and individual members from industry, government, and consulting in the Sacramento and Northern California areas.  We are environmental professionals who work every day to improve the environment of the Sacramento region. The Mother Lode Chapter is part of the Golden West Section (GWS), which represents all members of the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA) from Fresno to the northern California border. Our goal is to foster an improved understanding of air pollution and waste management issues both among environmental professionals and in the public at large.  To accomplish this we have supported various related environmental activities, grants to schools, and we sponsor educational meetings for our members.


The Pacific Northwest International Section proudly serves Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington USA and British Columbia and Yukon Territory , Canada with eight chapters throughout the region. We are proud of the energy and dedication of our members that makes us one of the most active (and fun!) Sections of AWMA. PNWIS also is the birthplace of the Environmental Challenge International (ECi) which started at ACE in 2008. 



 
APCAS is the Quebec section of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA), which has a total of 33 regional sections with 67 local chapters distributed across the regional sections. APCAS is a non-profit, non-partisan professional organization. APCAS wants to offer a neutral place for exchanges for different environmental stakeholders and for anyone interested in the environment in Quebec, the Maritimes and eastern Ontario.


For over 35 years, the Upper Midwest Section (UMS) of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) has provided a forum for Association members who live in Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and the Dakotas to meet, learn, and network. Approximately 200 environmental professionals representing industry, government, and consultants are members of the UMS.

The West Coast Section (WCS) was chartered in 1957, and many WCS members have served as Presidents of the Association, including Charter Member, S. Smith Griswold and 2020 Charles W. Gruber Association Leadership Award winner, Sara Head. WCS Chapters include Channel Islands, Mojave Desert, Orange County, and San Diego. Our Student Chapter at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo has won the Environmental Challenge International (ECi) for several years in a row. WCS has adopted international Chapters in India, Singapore, Thailand, a Student Chapter in Ghana, and a proposed Student Chapter in the United Arab Emirates. The WCS has frequently been recognized as one of the Best Performing Sections in Membership Development.



The Calgary Region Airshed Zone (CRAZ) is a multi-stakeholder, non-profit organization that monitors, analyses, and provides information on air quality, and develops strategies to manage air quality issues within the Calgary Regional Airshed Zone.  There are 10 Airsheds in Alberta that work together to protect air quality and to promote healthy air for all.
