Data Centers Technical Tour

See the infrastructure and technology that powers a large data center! 
Tuesday, March 24, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 

The Cloud HQ Campus in Ashburn, VA has a planned customer critical IT load of over 1.7 GWs spread among fourteen data centers. Participants will tour the CloudHQ LC4 180MW Data Center, which spans 1.5 million square feet and is designed to accommodate a single tenant.

After an overview of the building and systems, the tour will explore the main operations through four key areas that are essential to the functioning of the facility. Each area plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the data center as well as sustainability and environmental compliance.  Tour stops include: 

• Electrical Systems and Energy Efficiency Center 
• Generator Room
• Central Utility Plant                                                               
• Mechanical Yard, including cooling towers and dry coolers 

Weather and construction permitting, the tour may include a quick outside visit to the stormwater retention pond on the property, which includes two outfalls. 

Cloud HQ L4 Data Center

Cost $50. Includes transportation and box lunch following the tour.
Registration required by February 23 and all attendees must provide a government-issued ID and sign a NDA prior to the tour.  Flat, closed-toe shoes required for approximately 90 minutes of walking/standing.
