Best Student Platform Paper Award
The A&WMA Platform Paper Award will acknowledge up to two exceptional technical papers at the M.S. and Ph.D. academic levels for papers submitted for presentation at the A&WMA Annual Conference & Exhibition. The student candidate for the technical paper award will be the first author for the paper and the student candidate must present the technical work as a platform presentation during the annual conference.   

Abstracts should be submitted to the ACE 2018 Abstract Submittal site by November 28, 2017. See the Author Resource Center for details. 

Best Student Poster Award 
The A&MWA Student Poster Awards recognizes student posters to be the best amongst those considered in the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral categories. Student must present the poster during the A&WMA Annual Conference. 

Abstracts should be submitted to the ACE 2018 Abstract Submission site on the Author Resource Center by January 11, 2018. 

Best YP Paper Award 

To be considered for this award, there is no special application. Submit your abstract and check that you want to be considered for the best YP paper award and include your birthdate. You must choose and submit a full length paper or extended abstract. Powerpoint only presentations will not be considered.

Scholarship applications for 2018 are now being accepted. The deadline is January 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm Eastern Time.

Individuals must be full-time graduate students pursuing courses of study and research leading to careers
in air quality, waste management, environmental management/policy/law, and/or sustainability during the
2018/2019 academic year. Membership is not a requirement for the student or their advisor; however, it is
strongly encouraged. The Scholarship is a one-year award. Individuals must reapply to qualify for a second

Thesis and Dissertation Awards
n addition to scholarships, A&WMA acknowledges up to two exceptional Masters Thesis and up to two exceptional Doctoral Dissertations each year. Nominations shall be made by the student's faculty advisors, who are members of A&WMA, only. Works nominated shall be original work that makes an unusually significant contribution to the fields of air quality, all types of waste, or sustainability/management pertaining to air quality or waste. Awards are presented at the student awards ceremony during the Annual Conference & Exhibition.
