Sensory Deployment and Platforms for Smart Cities: Technology Applications Case Studies (May 2019)
This webinar discussed low cost sensor network deployment requirements as they pertain to accuracy and comparison to Federal Reference Methods (FRMs). Platform needs and capabilities were reviewed as well as the need for installation, service, calibration checks, and value-added platform capabilities.

A case study of the Bloomberg Mayors Challenge winning project for the city of Denver was presented where the city deployed particulate sensors to correlate asthma rates in school children with particulate loading rates around those facilities. Measurements included trips to the nurse or emergency room and parental lost work hours for parents that were monetized against correlations to high particulate loading exposure around school facilities. Future plans were also discussed.
