Practical Considerations in Navigating Environmental Justice (December 2021)

Practical Considerations in Navigating Environmental Justice (December 2021)
The Biden Administration has placed environmental justice at the forefront of U.S. EPA’s agenda. Decisions relating to siting of new facilities, permitting (including permit renewals) for new and existing facilities, and compliance and enforcement will be closely scrutinized and analyzed through the prism of environmental justice.

This webinar will provide an overview of the legal basis for environmental justice, EPA’s regulations and policies relating to environmental justice, and the Biden Administration’s and EPA’s recent statements and actions regarding environmental justice. Further, the presentation will provide state perspectives, identify potential challenges for facility siting, compliance, and permitting, and discuss practical considerations associated with environmental justice concerns.
