Working on a degree to start your career in the environmental industry? A&WMA is the place for you!
The Air & Waste Management Association has over 500 student members in approximately 50 chapters at colleges and universities worldwide. As a student member, you will have many opportunities to enrich your professional growth and development.Student membership only costs $35, and you receive a free year of young professional (YP) membership upon graduation!

After becoming an A&WMA member, join your local student chapter. Participating in student programs, networking events, and activities is an important part of the college experience!

Student Events at the Annual Conference

Students also can participate in the Environmental Challenge International (ECi) Competition, where teams prepare and present an optimal solution to a complex "true-to-life" environmental problem and present solutions at ACE each year.

Scholarships and Awards

Exceptional Student Chapter Award
Complete the Award Form and Student Chapter Report and be considered for this annual award!
The A&WMA Student Chapter Award recognizes outstanding achievement by a student chapter. The Student Chapter Annual Report shall consist of a summary report prepared according to the format form provided below. The annual report will provide the data required for computation of the criteria score and supporting documentation for each activity to be counted toward the award score.

The winning chapter will be announced at the Annual Conference & Exhibition Student Awards Ceremony and will be asked to share their achievements in a five-minute presentation. The award consists of a plaque, plus formal recognition at the Annual Meeting and in Association publications.
