Student Events at the Annual Conference

Students also can participate in the Environmental Challenge International (ECi) Competition, where teams prepare and present an optimal solution to a complex "true-to-life" environmental problem and present solutions at ACE each year.
ACE 2024 is taking place June 24-27, 2024 in Calgary, AB, Canada. Abstracts are due November 27, 2023 for platform presentations and January 19, 2024 for poster presentations. Visit the ACE 2024 Student page for submission details and to see the events planned this year!
Scholarships and Awards

Nominations for Master's Thesis and Doctoral Dissertation Awards are due January 18, 2024. Scholarship applications for the 2024/2025 academic year are due January 23, 2024.
Exceptional Student Chapter Award
Complete the Award Form and Student Chapter Report and be considered for this annual award!
The A&WMA Student Chapter Award recognizes outstanding achievement by a student chapter. The Student Chapter Annual Report shall consist of a summary report prepared according to the format form provided below. The annual report will provide the data required for computation of the criteria score and supporting documentation for each activity to be counted toward the award score.

The winning chapter will be announced at the Annual Conference & Exhibition Student Awards Ceremony and will be asked to share their achievements in a five-minute presentation. The award consists of a plaque, plus formal recognition at the Annual Meeting and in Association publications.
