2025 A&WMA Fellow Membership
The Fellow Grade of Membership was inaugurated in 1986 to recognize professional attainment and accomplishments related to the mission and objectives of A&WMA. A candidate for fellowship has a minimum of 15 years of experience in an area served by the Association and has been a member of the Association for at least 10 continuous years. Fellows are recognized for their professional accomplishments and service to the Association based on a process, product, or regulatory development; project leadership; managerial achievement; the education of specialists; peer-reviewed technical publications; patents; and research or theoretical developments.
A&WMA presents the Fellow Grade of Membership to Jordan Haywood in 2025.
Jordan Haywood, an A&WMA member since 1994, is an environmental engineer with nearly 30 years’ experience, currently with Siemens Energy in Orlando. Jordan is the Siemens Energy America’s Region Environmental Engineering Discipline Expert, dealing primarily with power plant (gas and steam turbine) air quality and acoustical issues. He is recognized as a subject matter expert in gas turbine emission regulation and control, and as the Siemens Energy ‘go-to’ person for all things emissions and noise related, Jordan works with both external and internal customers, as well as many regulatory agencies across the U.S., including the U.S. EPA. Jordan supports both new unit/facility projects and existing service/upgrade projects with all their air quality and acoustical needs. Jordan assists Siemens Energy employees throughout the world with air pollution control and emissions monitoring issues, especially those countries in which these requirements have only recently been promulgated. In addition, Jordan represents Siemens Energy on the Gas Turbine Association’s (GTA) Environmental Affairs Committee, working alongside other OEMs to educate and inform the public and U.S. policy decision makers regarding the value of gas turbine technology in the market, and providing valuable feedback for all U.S. EPA rule proposals impacting the gas turbine industry.
Jordan spent nearly six years in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator (Electronics Technician), three and a half of which were spent on the Guided Missile Cruiser U.S.S. Bainbridge (CGN-25), stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. After leaving the Navy, Jordan went back to college on the G.I. Bill and graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with environmental engineering bachelor’s (1994) and master’s (1996) degrees. Jordan joined A&WMA and was instrumental in the formation of the UCF A&WMA student chapter in 1994. Following graduation, Jordan worked as an air pollution consultant. Jordan obtained a Professional Engineering license in the State of Florida in 1999, and certification as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) in 2006. Jordan has been an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Engineering at UCF since 2003, teaching such courses as Introduction to Environmental Engineering, Air Pollution Control, and Air Pollution Control Design.
After Chairing the UCF A&WMA student chapter, Jordan wanted to stay involved with the A&WMA, so he joined the Board of the Florida Section, eventually serving several years as a Director, then Secretary, Vice Chair, and finally Chair (two and a half times). Jordan was the Student Committee Chair for the A&WMA Annual hosted by the Florida Section in Orlando in 2011, and the General Conference Chair for the 2012 Florida Section Annual Conference. Jordan is active in A&WMA International, recently rotating off the A&WMA International Board of Directors following a stint as the 2023 President and the 2024 Immediate Past President. Jordan spent six plus years before this on the Technical Council as Coordinator of the Industry, Government and Public Sector (IGP) Group, after having served for over a decade on the Power Generation and Noise Technical Coordinating Committees and then leading the Industry (IN) Division. He has been either a speaker, session chair or both at Annual Conferences since 2000. Jordan previously served on the A&WMA International Board of Directors for three years (2015-2017). Jordan served on the Honors and Awards Committee in 2024 and since rotating off the Board in January 2025, Jordan has remained active by serving on the COP (Council of the Parties) A&WMA participant selection committee and is also back on the Technical Council where he feels like he can still make a contribution, currently as Vice Chair of the IN (Industry) Division.
