The Trump Administration and EPA have taken or announced multiple actions as part of an overall effort to review and/or reconsider multiple rules and policies. For example, EPA has announced that it will reconsider at least thirty-one rules and has taken other actions to reduce the impact of regulations on the economy. The panel will provide a general overview of these actions, provide more specific insight into several of these rules, and provide an overview of recent court rulings and cases.

Brian Bunger, Partner, Holland & Knight
Brian C. Bunger is a land use and environment partner in Holland & Knight's San Francisco and Century City offices. He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental, air and climate law, with a particular focus on environmental administrative law and litigation. Before joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Bunger served more than 20 years as counsel to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District where he was responsible for all aspects of the legal function for the agency that is responsible for attainment and maintenance of the federal and state ambient air quality standards, and regulates stationary sources of air pollution in the nine counties comprising California’s San Francisco Bay Area.
Jeff Hunter, Partner, Perkins Coie
Jeff Hunter is a partner with Perkins Coie, focusing his practice on counseling corporate and individual clients in the United States on a wide variety of issues related to the environment including: permitting, compliance, environmental health and safety audits, enforcement defense; real estate acquisition, land use and development; natural resources development; due diligence in real estate and corporate acquisitions; financial disclosure obligations; and compliance with state laws including electronic-waste recycling product labeling and reporting including California Proposition 65; extended producer packaging and children’s safe products. He has experience in international laws regarding the restriction of hazardous substances; waste electrical and electronic equipment; and the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals. Jeff is licensed to practice in Colorado and Oregon, is listed in Chambers, The Best Lawyers in America and has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
John B. King, Partner, Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, LLC (BSW)
John B. King is a partner with the law firm Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, LLC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His principal areas of practice include environmental permitting, facility siting, enforcement, wetlands issues, and toxic tort defense. Mr. King’s experience includes twelve years with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, many as the Chief Attorney for Enforcement. He has litigated in federal and state courts and administrative tribunals and has presented briefs and/or oral arguments in the United States Court of Appeal, Fifth Circuit, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and state Courts of Appeal.

Mr. Kim Marcus has 52 years of experience in the field of geology and is based in Landau Associates Portland office. He specializes in hazardous waste, regulatory compliance, due diligence, risk mitigation, and strategic assessment. Mr. Marcus has worked on over 5,000 assessment and remediation projects. He has extensive experience consulting oil & gas, forest products, power, and manufacturing facilities. Kim is a Professional Geologist, Hydrogeologist, and Engineering Geologist, Washington #1540, Past President of the Air & Waste Management Association and Past President of the Pacific Northwest International Section of the A&WMA.
