Simin (Sarah) Mehrabani, PhD, PE, Senior Associate, Davenport Engineering
Sarah is a Senior Associate at Davenport Engineering, specializing in climate change-related projects. Prior to this, she worked as a Supervising Air Quality Engineer in the Engineering and Permitting Division of the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Sarah has been a member of the A&WMA since 2016. She is a Director-At-Large for the West Coast Section of A&WMA and serves on the A&WMA’s National Sustainability Taskforce. Sarah earned her PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Southern California and is a licensed PE in California.
Jennifer Routhier, PE, ENV SP. Decarbonization Lead, AECOM
Jennifer Routhier is a Decarbonization Lead with 13 years of experience in air quality, greenhouse gas analysis, and sustainability. For close to a decade at AECOM Canada, she has specialized in emissions inventory development, carbon reporting, decarbonization planning and design, and sustainability management. Jennifer has worked across diverse sectors, including oil & gas, steel manufacturing, road and rail transportation, and aviation. She currently serves as Sustainability Lead for the Pearson LIFT program at Toronto Pearson Airport. Driven by a deep passion for sustainability, Jennifer is committed to creating innovative solutions that reduce emissions and foster a greener future.
Di Xu, Senior Sustainability Project Manager, Lead GHG Verifier, ADEC ESG
Di Xu is a Senior Sustainability Project Manager and Lead GHG Verifier with ADEC ESG. She specializes in GHG accounting and assurance, decarbonization strategy, and sustainability program management. She supports executive leadership teams in designing and implementing climate strategies and navigating regulatory and voluntary sustainability disclosures. Di holds lead GHG verifier accreditations from California Air Resources Board Mandatory Reporting Regulation, Low Carbon Fuel Standard, Washington State Department of Ecology, and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. She serves as Member-At-Large for A&WMA Golden West Section and Young Professionals Advisory Council.
Moderator: Paul Algu, Corporate Environmental Affairs Manager, Riviana Foods
Paul Algu is the Corporate Environmental Affairs Manager for Riviana Foods and has over 20 years of environmental compliance and sustainability experience. In his current role, Mr. Algu leads corporate development and implementation of an advanced environmental compliance posture for the organization across multiple jurisdictions. He is also the organizational leader of end-to-end processes for CSRD-aligned sustainability reporting, including double materiality assessments, data collection, gap analysis, and alignment with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Mr. Algu graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management Systems and a master's degree in Environmental Science.
