Combustion Turbines: The Backbone of Power Generation in the U.S.

Combustion Turbines: The Backbone of Power Generation in the U.S.
Wednesday, August 19, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm ET
This webinar will cover everything you always wanted to know about combustion turbines, but were afraid to ask.
Learn the basics of combustion turbine technology in terms of the history, fuels and various configurations with Jordan Haywood of Siemens Energy, combustion turbine original equipment manufacturer.
What technological developments are on the horizon with combustion turbines? Bobby Noble of the Electric Power Research Institute will break down what to expect in the coming years in terms of improved emission performance, fuel variety, size and emissions control technology.
What challenges will be faced with procuring air permits for combustion turbines? Consultant Chris Whitehead will cut through the clutter to provide best tips on the air permitting journey including approaching the public, modeling challenges related to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards, and federal rules – especially carbon dioxide challenges.
Jim Walker of Consumers Energy will moderate this webinar.
