Substitutions may be made at any time; payment for any difference is due at the time of substitution.  This refund policy applies to all occurrences, including weather-related events and other natural disasters.  In the unlikely occurrence of an event cancellation, the Association is not liable for any expenses incurred by the registrant other than the full refund of registration fee(s) paid.

Financial Support
Funds are available for financial support for attendance at the conference.  These funds have been made available to the conference by U.S. Federal Agencies, State and Local Air Pollution Control Districts and Professional Organizations.

A requirement for application for these funds is that the applicant have a submitted abstract for a technical presentation at the conference which is accepted by the Steering Committee.  The presentation may be either platform or poster.  Most of the funds are to support U.S. attendees, but limited funds will be available for non–U.S. attendees.

To apply, please complete the Financial Assistance Form and the PDF Registration Form (without payment information) and send to
visibility@awma.org by August 5, 2021.

Applications will be considered for the following:
  • Full time students, either graduate or undergraduate
  • Post-Doctoral Fellows
  • Young professionals (age 35 or under on 24 April 2021)
  • Individuals with extenuating circumstances
Those included the last bullet are: Retired, Unemployed, Non-U.S. applicants or those with unusual expenses to attend.  The applications submitted under this category may take longer for approval, but all decisions will be made by summer of 2021.

Support may be requested for any or all the following areas:
  • Conference Registration
  • Course Registration
  • Housing (Funds approved in this area will cover the room cost and taxes at Ruby's Inn only, but not incidental expenses charged to the room.  Housing will be covered for Monday through Thursday and for Sunday if you are being supported to take a course, and possibly for Friday if you register for the tour, which may not be confirmed until mid September, 2021.)
Funding will not be available to support any travel. A&WMA is not responsible under any circumstance for refunding airline ticket or any other travel costs, fees, charges, or penalties.

Those receiving financial support must make their own hotel reservations at Ruby's Inn and secure with a personal credit card. Prior to your checkout, the room fees and taxes will be moved to the A&WMA master account and the attendee will be responsible for any incidental charges made to the room.
